For the past three years, Schoolnest has been my go-to. While it’s designed with school planning in mind, it’s versatile enough to adapt perfectly to everyday life planning too.

This is now my third year using a SchoolNest planner, and I still love it as much as the first year. One of my favourite things about SchoolNest is the variety — each year, I’ve chosen a different style of planner to match the season of life I’m in. That flexibility means I can either stick with a familiar layout for consistency or switch things up to try a new style — all while enjoying the same incredible designs and nature-inspired elements that first drew me to SchoolNest. The planner I’m currently using is a 52-week, 12-month, undated beauty, so you can start at any time of year without wasting pages. And if, like me, you’re creative but not particularly artistic, you’ll love the built-in artwork to colour. It’s a perfect space for stickers, washi tape, and journaling, so you can be as creative as you like while keeping everything beautifully organised.

One of my favourite features is the layout design. In many planners, the monthly calendars are all grouped at the front, with the weekly pages tucked at the back. In the SchoolNest notebook, each month’s calendar is directly followed by its planning and reflection pages, so you’re not flipping back and forth. It’s a small thing, but it makes a big difference.
Paper Quality (UK Edition)
Because I’m in the UK, I have to order my planner through Amazon, which means the paper quality isn’t quite the same as when ordering directly from SchoolNest. Unfortunately, SchoolNest isn’t currently able to ship to the UK due to postage costs — though it’s something they’re looking into.
That said, I’ve found that erasable pens and coloured pencils work wonderfully with minimal bleed-through.
Making It My Own
I’ve customised mine with a 1,000 Hours Outside adventure prompt to keep outdoor time a priority. As someone living with two chronic illnesses, getting outside can be one of the first things to slip on a tough day — but it’s vital for my health and my son’s development. Having it in my planner keeps it front and centre alongside our academic work. Check out the YouTube link above to see this feature.
Why It Works for Me
This year, we’re using a box curriculum (Memoria Press) for the first time, so I especially appreciate that the weekly pages allow me to mark week numbers for easy tracking. There’s also plenty of space each month for photos, reviews, and reflections, turning the planner into a keepsake I can look back on in the years to come.
For me, the SchoolNest Weekly Planning Notebook is functional, beautiful, and endlessly customisable. After three years of using it — in different styles to suit different seasons — I can honestly say it’s my favourite planning tool, and I can’t imagine homeschooling without it.
